Steps for Local SEO
- Claim and completely fill out your Google My Business, Bing Places, Apple Maps Connect.
- Add other citations (business listings) where you can. Keep your name, address and phone consistent.
- Create content around your services and the problems you solve for people. We do weekly keyword targeted blog posts for our clients and that broadens their search visibility greatly.
- Track your numbers. Going forward make data-driven content decisions.
- Run a few campaigns of automated tiered links using that term heavily in the titles and as anchor text. Target something other than his site and profiles. Maybe target some of your better citations and review profiles. This will help create relevancy for a different entity than the one in the knowledge graph.
- Then I would work on getting keyword optimized reviews on your Yelp profile and used in your GMB reviews, Google collects info from both those places about entities and does modify the search results accordingly
- I’d also probably run a press release announcing the fact the your brand is now servicing that location and link out to you GMB listing from the content
- Links, citations, brand profiles, brand mentions, stronger authority document, stronger citation backlink profiles etc.
